Okay, I'm starting to get rolling (along with a couple of other folks) on a regional conference here in the mountain west. One of the things we're looking at doing is having a hacking night the evening before. I'm at a bit of a loss for a hacking project though. Any ideas?

How about a conference registration web site written in Rails?
Oh wait, by then it would be too late. :)
I could suggest doing something in JRuby, but I think that would be morally offensive to many folks.
blowmage: heh
charles: I'll tell you what, if you either agree to come out and lead the hacking session, or suggest a project that would be done in Ruby that helps the JRuby project, I'll take any hits for being offensive from a programming language perspective.
JRuby isn't offensive. Neither is RubyCLR. Nor the "enterprise". You must be thinking of those script kiddies masquerading as Rails experts. They like to attack without thinking. But that's not us. ;)
